One memory involves a 2-year-old child with epilepsy.

The child was brought in by his mother crying, and was cold, shivering, biting his tongue, mouth full of saliva, and unresponsive.

Hewa held him and told his mother that he would take good care of him.

As he held the child down, he rushed to get him some diazepam as ordered by the doctor, and quickly injected the medicine.

Although the child continued to shiver, he finally relaxed after 5 minutes.

After the boy fell asleep, Hewa comforted the family, and told them that they would all do their best to treat him.

The child recovered and went home.

One week after discharge, the parents came in to thank Hewa and credited him for saving their son’s life due to his dedication and quick decisions while handling the case.

Hewa was proud to have impacted someone’s life.
